WTN: 2012 Texier St Julien en St Alban

Succulent, suave, gentle and delicate. Nothing too heavy or deep, nothing too light. Especially good at dinner with the side dish of sauteed fennel and olives. But an all around fine time throughout the night.

At this point I don't even care how it will age, I need delicious stuff to drink now, and this more than qualifies!

Rahsaan, that's an appellation which I've never heard of before. What part of France does it come from and what grape varieties do they use? I still fail to find any of Éric's wines; I think that they may better availability on your side than here.

It's 100% syrah, old vines (vieille serine - which is an old clone of syrah, local to the northern Rhone). It's roughly halfway between Valence and Montelimar, and right across the river (Rhone) from Brezeme, his other signature appellation.
