WTN: Interesting blend, Sauv Blanc - Carmenere

Oveja Negra, Sauvignon Blanc - Carmenere, Reserva, Maule Valley 2014
90% Sauv Blanc, 10% Carmenere blanc de noir. Light, lustrous yellow, with a hint of green. Fresh, sweet, aromatic nose, with some mineral depth. On the palate, fresh peach and pink grapefruit upfront, followed by gooseberry, and white raspberry (an alternative interpretation of those would be kiwi and passion fruit), all with notes of jasmine, and with honey, sweet grass, spice, and salty mineral toward a very nice finish. On the light side of full bodied, fresh with steely acidity, and an opulent, round, delightful texture. The Carmenere gives this such nice roundness and depth; though, almost aggressive in its personality, with the vegetal and spicy notes needing reigned in a bit (some bottle age might fix that). I really like this blend. It would be very interesting to see where this goes with age. Under screw cap, so should easily last 5 years, and might be interesting in 10. 2.5 Stars [11/21/15]

How remiss of me not to mention it, have added to the note. In short, a rich but light yellow.
