A wee BloodyPulpit:
1. There are four Schiavas out there: SchiavaGentile/SchiavaGrigia/SchiavaGrossa/SchiavaLombarda. The variety goes by Vernatsch in Germany. All 4 Schiavas are distinct/unrelated grape varieties. The first three are found in the AltoAdige, with the Grossa being the most common. The last one is found in Lombardy. Not sure which Schiava is in this Lageder.
Schiava is a grape that makes a lighter almost Pinot-like wine w/ a distinct earthy/loamy character..at least in the AA. It is, of course, a variety they should be planting all up&down the coast in Calif.

2. RobTabeau (RiP), in his FringeWine blog, explicitly admonishes his readers not to do a search on "Schiava image" if one is looking for images of that grape.
