Care?

No.

On a side note, apparently someone was gambling on the Evening Land that ended up at #3 being #1. He stocked up to re-sell at a handsome profit. Whoopise!

I love (some) California Cabernet. But almost every one of the Wine Speculator top cabernets approached or exceeded $150. It's just spoiled grape juice, people!

Interesting to see Quilceda Creek getting the boost. The brand seems to have suffered a lot of backlash from Parker's fandom and the stream of characters, some dubious, Parker's sent up here to review NW wines ever since.

Well the backlash has been largely deserved, as the wines have become largely nasty, undrinkable swill.

To be honest, I have yet to find a Washington State wine that I liked.
It's like South Africa so far....just haven't liked them.

Very small sample size, of course. And, I badly need to broaden my horizons.

Maybe when I visit my sister, we can hit some wine regions! :?

It's been forever since I had a baby QC, maybe only the rather lithe 2008 which I liked a lot. By the same token I predicted that meant their standard customer would be disappointed in it.

I really liked the 2001 when it came out. It was not crazy concentrated. A few years later it turned to crap.

I have one bottle of #4 on the list--a 2010 Brunello. I hear it has gone up in price since the list was released.

I grant you I don't take the Speculators list seriously but for the next week or so there will be many people come into our store brandishing a copy of that list. But we do take it seriously in stocking our shelves etc.
