Rick at Groezinger's has a new toy (one of those needle-piercing-the-cork devices), so we were able to taste several wines on Saturday!
I really enjoyed the 2010 White Rock Laueate Bordeaux blend (right up my alley in earthiness and savory quality), but the wine that really stood out just for its uniqueness and the "story" was the Lagier Meredith Tribridag. This is in homage to the original Croatian source of Zinfandel. Bright red berry fruit, polished tannins, a hint of acidity, and this amazing palate cleansing, delicious hit of white pepper. A delicious, delicious wine. A more extensive tasting note when I actually drink the bottle with a meal!
