WTN: 2009 ESJ Rocks & Gravel

2009 Edmunds St. John Rocks and Gravel - USA, California (11/8/2015)
Six years post vintage, and this is hitting an early stride. Integrated red fruit and earth aromas combine with a gorgeous and suave palate impression that accentuates warm herb, leather and red fruit flavors. There is still so much depth that I am sure it's going to go on and improve for a long time, but it sure is delicious right now. This was the first R&G that used grapes from Unti Vineyard, and the first to be fermented in concrete, so it's really nice to see how this genre of Rocks and Gravel is coming along. So good!
