Picked up this rare Valtelline bianco at Ciapponi in Morbegno to try back at the hotel:
1. Bianco dell Arcipretura IGT: Terrazzo Retiche di Sondrio (13%; 40% Sauvignon/40% Chard/20% Riesling) Alberto Marsetti/LaCastellina Az.Agr. Fondazione Fojanini 2014: Light gold color; bit coarse/earthy quite appley/quince/fresh mown hay slight smokey rather interesting nose; quite sharp/metallic/tangy/grapefruity/tinny some earthy rather appley/quince/sharp cheddar very tangy flavor; med.long very sharp/tangy/acid/grapefruity slight herbal/new mown hay finish; a very tangy/metallic interesting bianco.

1. Alberto Marsetti is a wnry located in Sondrio. Never had their wines before. Most Valtelline whites I've had have been made from Chiavennasca/Nebbiolo. Alberto also cultivates Brugnola/Pignola/Rossola indigenous varieties as well. I would very much like to try his other wines.
