WTN: DiRupi ValtellineSuperiore '10...(short/boring)

Tried this in our beautiful hotel room (Campelli) in Moia up above Sondrio:
1. DiRupi DOCG: ValtellineSuperiore (13.5%; 9983 btls) Ponte 2010: Med.dark color; slight funky/earthy/mushroomy some Nebb/lilacs bit loamy/root cellar nose that speaks quietly of Nebbiolo; fairly tart some grapey/lilacs/floral/Nebb bit funky/earthy/loamy/mushroomy/truffly interesting flavor w/ light bitey/astringent tannins; med.long some grapey/lilacs/violets/floral bit musty/fusty/loamy/mushroomy finish w/ light hard/bitey tannins; speaks rather quietly of Nebbiolo and a bit of uncleanliness but rather interesting if not exciting expression of Valtelline Nebb. Euros 18.50 (Ciapponi)

A wee BloodyPulpit:
1. DiRupi is one of the hot new wineries in the Valtelline. I tried to get an appt w/ them but they never responded to my e-mails. They source from a bunch of different vnyds, mostly farmed by BioDynamic. On one of our vnyd tours w/ Daniela of Balgera, we drove thru Ponte and saw their wnry. It is located in a tiny beautiful, if ramshackle, Madonna di Campagana chapel that dates back to 1568. But the winemaking inside looks to be thoroughly modern. I would have loved to toured their vnyds and the inside of their wnry.
I spotted this wine at Ciapponi in Montebegno and bought this btl to try. I was expecting something of the level of ArPePe. Such was not to be. It showed a bit of uncleanliness and did not speak that strongly of Valtelline Nebbiolo. But I'd be interested in trying their other wines if I ever have the opportunity.
