If I had tasted this versatile little wine before buying it I would have passed it by, but fortunately I bought a half-dozen bottles on the recommendation of a wine merchant friend, who responded to my request for a food-friendly dry Gewurztraminer. I see that the Wine Enthusiast gave the wine only 85 points, which is probably about what I would have given it if I had tasted it without food, but I'm finding that this baby is a worthy match for everything from lamb tongue to pork chops, which is a great blessing in my house as my wife loves Gewurtz and it is hard as hell to find ones that aren't at least demi-sec sweet. So, while the wine doesn't wow, it fills a niche, and we will be back for more.
