A wee BloodyPulpit:
1. Persan??? What the heck is that??? It is a variety of unknown origin mostly found in the Savoie, a bit across the border in Suisse, and a tiny amount in the SusaVlly of Piemonte under the local name of Bucuet. Gonin is a crazy guy that is focused on reviving the indigenous varieties of the Savoie. I need to try more of his wines. Some interesting Sites are found on his WebSite, worth reading:
GoninWebSite It reminded me a lot of Savoie Mondeuse but a lot more tart/tangy in character. Clearly a grape they outta be planting all up & down the Coast of Calif.
Another great find at Amsterdam Wine Co on AmsterdamSt in NYC. Great shop/great people.
