Tried this wine at Cam's in NYC ystrday:
1. LeftFootCharley Blaufrankisch MacDonaldVnyd/OldMissionPennisula/Michigan (12.7%; www.LeftFootCharley.com)
TraverseCity/MI 2013
: Med.dark slight bricked color; strong earthy/loamy/root cellar some blueberry/blackberry/licorice
bit peppery/spicy attractive/authentic nose; soft/fat some earthy/loamy/root cellar slight metallic/tangy bit blueberry/licorice/
peppery flavor w/ light soft tannins; med.long earthy/loamy some blueberry/peppery finish w/ light tannins; quite a strong resemblance
to Austrian Blaufrankisch; best US Blaufrankisch I've yet had. $23.00 (AmsterdamWineCo)

A wee BloodyPulpit (first one in over a month):
1. On my way back from a month in Italy/Slovenia/Austria/Suisse and staying in NYC for a few days at Cam's. Wonderful meal
last night at TheTangledVine wine bar w/ some very interesting wines. Dinner at LePif tonight.
Whilst in Austria, I tried maybe some 12-15 Blaufrankisch. This LFC was very similar to those and better than many of them.
They should be planting Blaufrankisch all over the USofA.
Checked out a few wine shops in the UpperWestSide. The AmsterdamWineCompany was he best one I found. Very interesting selection
and very friendly folks.
