The entire event was very good. Small portions (I am really hungry today), but each course was pretty tasty. One thing that hit me was the pork dish - remember when Niman Ranch pork was a big deal? This pork had so little inherent flavor compared to the local pork I can now buy near my house. The seasoning was good, but it could have been anything under the rub.
We had a lot of Pinot Gris which is not my favorite grape. That being said, I really liked the 2012 Pinot Gris Reserve, preferring it to the richer Reserve Personnelle. The 2011 Gewurz VT is classically Trimbach - not as sweet as you would expect and beautiful aromatics. They also poured the 2001 CFE 375th Anniversary which showed really well.
The 2012 Pinot Noir was a credible Pinot but nothing I would seek out.
