A few months makes a difference

by Brian K Miller » Sat Oct 17, 2015 3:07 pm

2012 Due Vigne Cabenet Sauvignon (Napa Valley). Wow...when tasted at release this wine was pretty simple and soft. Six months later, and the structure and delicious cassis fruit are singing....a very fine Napa Valley Cabernet. Good stuff! Mr. Musso is of Italian heritage, and that comes through in a very good way here!

In between.

"Due Vigne" signifies their approach: Italian varietals (and chardonnay-a very unique chardonnay) from the foothills. Bordeaux varietals from Napa Valley. No vineyards per se, but they lease actual winery at the Old Sugar Mill complex in Yolo County 15 miles south of Sacramento on the river.

Their neighbors, Clarksburg Wine Company, makes a killer chenin blanc and good Cab Franc. Three Wine Company sources from some of the oldest vineyards in Contra Costa. A cool stop on a Delta bicycle ride.
