How long should I cellar 2012 Bourgogne Rouge?

I bought three inexpensive bottles of Veuve Aubert Aine' Bourgogne Rouge Vielles Vignes and can't find much about this wine or even past vintages. Would it be way too soon to try one?

Don't cellar it at all. Send it to me.

There is no reason not to drink one.

I don't know that wine, but for the general question it all depends on the specific bottling. This weekend I had a 2012 Barthod Bons Bathons that clearly needs more time.

Hi Jayne,

Within the last couple of months we've had a Nicolas Potel and a Domaine Humbert Bourgogne Rouge from the '12 vintage. Both were quite tasty with an hour or so in a decanter. I wouldn't hold back. Since you have a few bottles you might want to lay one down for a couple of years to see how it progresses.

Okay, I think I will try one in the next four-to-six weeks and let it aerate for an hour before dinner.
