WTN: 2011 Tercero Mourvèdre

2011 Tercero Mourvedre - USA, California, Central Coast, Santa Barbara County (9/28/2015)
Notes from 2 nights, and the second better than the first. This clearly needs some time in bottle. On night one it showed mostly dark fruit and even a little bit of heat. Put it aside, and on night two it's a completely different beast. The dark fruit is still there, but it is combines with earthy, herbal and wild game elements that add fascinating complexity. The palate is integrated, the heat is completely gone, and it's just completely drinkable. Delicious stuff Larry!

Did I mention that I completely love the Mourvèdre resurgence in California. Or maybe it's just the Mourvèdre "surgence."
