Mendo Pinot and Napa Chard, Oh My!

2012 CAMPOVIDA Pinot Noir. Comptche, 10 miles from the ocean in Mendocino County. Lovely "pomegranite" richness to the fruit, but with a core of savory acidity and nice earthyness. A big surprise for me! I tend to prefer Campovida's takes on Italian varietals.

The tasting at the winery had more funkyness than this bottle, but I am not complaining.

2014 Donkey and Goat "Linda Vista" Chardonnay. Matthiason makes a dryer, steelier wine from this vineyard I understand. Needed to be colder. Quite tropical....less pineapple than mango? Quite lovely and rich, with trademark Donkey and Goat acidity.
