A wee BloodyPulpit:
1. Fiano is a grape I'm becoming more&more impressed with, especially in Calif. According to Oliver, it's a variety that can take some age quite well.
It used to be that when you'd buy some of these Southern Italian whites, you'd find wines that were fat/underacid/coarse, often slightly oxidized. That seems to be coming much less the case anymore.
This is the 4'th Statti wine I've had now and I'm impressed w/ what they're doing.
