WTN: Musar Blanc 2005

Chateau Musar Blanc 2005 - Lebanon, Bekaa, 12% abv; Merwah & Obaideh

I know I've tasted this before but I just couldn't remember what it was like. Since it became available here, I decided to open one too young just to see if I need more.

Musar Blanc never seems terribly acidic (yet always seems clean and refreshing by some other chemical magic). Yet this year for the white does seem more refreshing and acidic - which is a bit strange since the smells are actually such that they would promise a heavy, ponderous wine. Perhaps a cool but long growing season can cause such vivid and ripe fruit aromas coupled to a higher structure? The other strange thing is how open and expressive the wine was immediately on opening. Usually white Musar this young requires a day or so of air to show well.

But is it any good? Nah. It's toxic waste. And remember that toxic substances should not be disposed of by dumping them into the sewer system. They need proper handling by experts. I happen to have just the sort of laboratory and personnel that can take care of such waste as the Musar Blanc 2005. And - I'll try not to dislocate my shoulder while patting myself on the back - I am such a nice person that I'll even dispose of these free of charge! So please send any you have to Finland and I'll take care of them.
I don't drink wine because of religious reasons ... only for other reasons.
