2006 Kerpen Wehlener Sonnenuhr Riesling Auslese * - Germany, Mosel Saar Ruwer (8/15/2015)
Still fairly youthful, but beginning to gain some aged complexity, so the glass stopper appears to be doing its job properly so far. There's honey-coated peach fruit and creamy vanilla, with a touch of finishing spice. It's still very rich, though the sweetness is not so pronounced as it once was, such that it works with very spicy food and also as a wine to sip on its own. Not the most intriguing wine, but very good drinking for a modest price. In other words, typical Kerpen.

Kerpen always seems to be good value if not compelling
I'd have worried that '06 and Auslese * would be overly rich, but this sounds balanced if rich.
