The color of this wine implies classic just on sight. The greenish yellow color brings to mind a typical Saar Riesling. In many ways the color speaks the truth, as there is a greenish element to the wine, minty/lime/basil, but it is with a much more exotic fruit profile than one usually sees in classic Saar wine. Instead of crisp tree fruits such as apple, it veers more towards green mango and peach. Overall it's still full of the virtues that speak to a Saar kabinett, as the acidity and the green bits win the day. It's just painted on a slightly different canvas.

Sounds delicious, and sounds like it's in a delicious zone.

Also interesting that the fruit profile is still so exotic. I found some 2012s to be moving towards the structure and away from the forward fruit flavors this past year. And one wouldn't pick this as the most forward wine.

But sounds very delicious! (If not the same as your 88 Krug )
