WTN: 2001 Prager Riesling Klaus Smaragd

This is lovely. Still vibrant and zesty but aged into a serene state of harmony. Not the deepest or most complex wine. But everything is in balance and this is in a perfect place for me.

The only complaint is that my last bottle from a few months ago showed nothing like this. It was sour and thin and I worried that it was past its prime. So I opened this on a night when my wife was out, thinking that I could always open something else if it was too blah, and she wouldn't miss much. But now I wish she could share the joy!

That said, as I told my son during dinner, once opened the bottle must be drunk!
