Good choice. I had the 2010 on one of our hotter days this summer.

We were cooking that up outside Revelstoke, an area you probably know.

Speaking of Lapierre, though, had an '11 on Saturday. It was pnp'd, and severely shutdown. Hold 'em if you have them.

Great paragliding area too, I've flown there several times!

Story behind those chops: Bob begged me to buy some delicious Canadian lamb to grill before we left Canada, since it's superior to what's available locally. Lamb isn't vey popular in the American PNW. So I bought lamb, and didn't notice until I removed it from the packages: it was from New Zealand.

This is the S? I've thoroughly enjoyed this. Bought some, then bought 6 more (and a mag). Then got email from retailer asking me to check bottles - they were missing the N. Luckily I hadn't broached 6 pack yet - it was the N, and I took it back for my downgrade. :(

Still, pretty happy with the S!

Is there a big price difference between the S and the N? (I don't think I've ever had the N)

Not huge, I think 5-8 dollars, just harder to find the N.
It's actually good that retailer realized, as I still had a bunch from earlier purchase I had put this in my passive overflow cellar. I might not have broached for a year or two. This cellar probably tops out at 70 by Sept- I've never had a wine that I thought suffered, but never kept a sans soufre there.

Yes; bought a case wholesale. Great little wine I can reach for anytime. Was perfect for travelling too--thought we were going to have temps in the 90's and love bojo with a light chill. Was actually about 20 degrees cooler, so no chill needed. It's ready for whatever happens. :)

Most restaurant persons I know think Canadian lamb is very inconsistent in quality.

May depend on where in Canada it's from? In BC, it's often Salt Spring Island, but all I've had in BC has been amazing.

Answering Jeff's question: yes, it was actually very good. Very small racks about half the size of Aussie (what I get at Costco) or American, and obviously 'lamb', not adult.

Clue me in, guys - what are the S and N? I feel a little silly not having any idea what you are referring to...even a trip to Kermit's website came up empty. I have 2 mags each of the 2013 and 2014, and I don't see anything on the bottle that refers to it either.

Joy,

There are two versions of the wine, one with added sulphur (s) and one with none (n).

The (n) is held in high regard for some supposed jump in quality over the (s). Of course the (n) is really hard to source and does not ship well, so it's hard for most of us to put that to the test.

Is there a way to tell which one it is by looking at the label?

On the back label there is a tiny N or S.

It's not that tiny, not like teeny lot #s on some Champagnes (and bigger than AP #s usually are). It's bolded, on bottom left on 2013s -to left of italized Marcel Lapierre (funny, just looked - back labels on mags are smaller than on 750s).

And the S is a comparatively low-sulfur wine, it's just the N is no sulphur.

edited to add I guess Joy found as I was comparing and typing
