A wee BloodyPulpit:
1. PolyMath is the label of SavannaWright, asst winemaker at FaillaWnry. We bought her PetiteSirah several months ago and loved it as a more restrained rendition of that grape. This Riesling is her latest release. This is not a Riesling for the instant gratification crowd. But, I suspect, this will become a beautiful R w/ age and develop a lot of that gout de petrol character w/ 5-10 yrs of age. It has a very high acidity but a richness & texture to it that keeps the wine from seeming thin & eviscerated.
When DavidHirsch planted his original vnyd, it included a block of Riesling. Alas, I never got a chance to try any R from that vnyd afore it was grafted over. So I was excited to find out Savanna had made a R from the extreme SonomaCoast. I've had some exceptional Rieslings from the PetalumaGap and long felt the extreme SonomaCoast would be a perfect place to be growing that grape. This PolyMath would certainly confirm that. And the best is ahaed for this wine.
