2013 Nigl Riesling Privat Senftenberger Pellingen - Austria, Niederösterreich, Kremstal (7/20/2015)
I normally do not drink much Nigl Riesling early in its life. I prefer the wines with some age. But since I bought several of this, I figured an early check in was ok. Excellent choice. The wine is showing a lot of crisp, crunchy fruit, a blast of spice that dominates the mid-palate and finish (and no, it's not wood), with an underlying strata of minerals. This is frankly delicious right now. I'm glad that I have several more. Only a few may get cellared.
