I opened the 2010 Z-H Alsatian Pinot Blanc tonight with pesto and Italian sausage with shell pasta. What a match made in heaven! The wine was medium-full bodied with lots of lemon essence and strong herbal (tarragon?) notes. For $22 I wish I had bought much more. The indice was #1 and was truly very dry but not at all tart. Certainly one of the best Pinot Blancs I have tasted in quite a while. abv of 13.5% & color was medium straw.

Pinot Blanc does not get much respect. That's too bad, as in the right hands it can make a lovely wine. I actually drink a good bit of it...when I can find it.
