Rhone Rangers Oakland Tasting

by Brian K Miller » Mon Jul 20, 2015 11:05 am

An amazing range of wines was available at the lovely Campo Vida tasting room in industrial Oakland!

My highlights were (if I recall) the deliciously funky and savory and complex Bonny Doon Le Cigare Volante both white and (especially) the red. The red was a revelation, actually! Have not had Boony Doon in a while, and while the reserve is expensive I was pretty happy with my sample!

Other highlight: Crux Winery (out of Healdsburg) red blend and, especially, the 2012 Eaglepoint Ranch Syrah, which was savory and meaty and quite delicious.

I am not doing the event justice. There were quite a few fantastic wineries there sampling some nice wines!
