2002 Dönnhoff Niederhäuser Hermannshöhle Riesling Spätlese - Germany, Nahe (7/6/2015)
Fantastic showing for this wine. Tons of tropical fruit (almost as tropical as Scheurebe), great balance, depth and richness with simultaneous grace and elegance and a finishing kick of salty lime make for a nearly perfect experience. The main flaw is that the bottle is too small. This is mind blowing Spatlese, and exhibit A that Donnhoff not only ages, but it ages spectacularly well.
