A late Christmas lobster dinner with my folks tonight:

Aperitif:

2005 Edmunds St. John Pinc Froid
A very pleasing blend of Rhone varieties, with strawberry & tart cherry flavors. Very good value.

Champagne:

1990 Taittinger Comtes de Champagne
Fully secondary, with nutty apple aromas and flavors. Richness from age, and a soft mousse. Spellbindingly delicious.

Dry white:

2004 Ramey Hyde Vineyard Chardonnay
While this was a bit too oaky for my preference, it shows fine fruit and excellent minerality. A few years of age will do this wine lots of good. About the only Cali Chard producer I like.
