Tried this new wine over the weekend:
1. LeMonde Friulano Dd'OC: Grave (13%; L99; www.LeMondeWine.com; www.TheSortingTable.com) Prata di Pordenone 2013: Light golden/orangey color; some earthy/chalky some floral/orangey/nutmeg/Tokaj some cidery/phenolic/resiny/skin-contact somewhat complex nose; rather tart/tangy earthy/chalky/stony light floral/orangey/Tokaj/carnations rather phenolic/cidery/resiny/pungent flavor w/ light tannins; long somewhat floral/orangey/Tokaj/earthy/stony tart/tangy some skin-contact/phenolic/resiny/cidery finish w/ light tannins; quite a nice balance between Tokaj fruit and skin-contact phenolics savory character; quite an attractive food-wine. $22.00 (AV)

A wee BloodyPulpit:
1. The web sites make no mention of skin-contact during fermentation, only a 12 hour cold-soak afore being pressed of the skins. Yet the wine showed a distinct phenolic signature of some skin contact. TheSortingTablle brings in the Miani wines from Friuli as well.
