WTN: 2010 Baudry Grezeaux

2010 Domaine Bernard Baudry Chinon Les Grézeaux - France, Loire Valley, Touraine, Chinon (5/31/2015)
Than heavens for the passage of time. I did not much care for this when it came it. It was too dense and too purple. It did not speak at all of Loire Cabernet Franc to me. Now two+ years later it has settled into a groove. Gone is the purplosity. The density has evolved into a layered effect. The aromatics have expanded beyond fruit, encompassing smoke, warm herbs, turned earth and well-mannered berry fruit that mingles with the other elements rather than dominating. This is youthfully delicious on the palate as well, with a balance that promises further joys to come after several more years in the cellar.
