During the Nantucket Wine Festival a couple wine stores in Nantucket held special free tastings. I only made one of the tastings because of my busy festival schedule. Missed ones featuring Flowers wines, Chateau d'Esclans, Champagne, etc.
Did visit Epernay, a shop that opened last month, and had a tasting of wines from Domaine du Pegau. I started with the red wines and had a 2013? Cote du Rhone that I liked. It was about 50/50 Grenache and Syrah. I liked the 2012 Domaine du Pegau Chateauneuf-du-Pape better than the 2009 vintage. I hope to order a couple bottles in June if it is still available for shipping in the fall. (Not available in North Carolina according to wine-searcher.com) The 2009 was priced higher than the 2012 and had a very light touch of funk--I'm not sure if it really had any Brett but it might have. Prices on most of the wines in Epernay seemed high to me but I was tempted by a 1er Cru Morey St. Denis if I hadn't been flying back from Boston (bottles of wine can result in extra baggage costs since you can't carry them onto the plane with you.)
