2004 Albert Boxler Gewurztraminer Brand - France, Alsace, Alsace Grand Cru (5/15/2015)
Served as part of a BYO Chinese dinner. This is mature and drinking very well now. It shows lots of pineapple and lychee elements, and a deep iron note. Not much in the way of florality. On the palate it is slightly sweet, not too heavy, and carries the fruit towards nectarine. The finish has sufficient acids to carry the overall weight of the wine. Despite this very clinical note, I really enjoyed drinking it, and kept going back to the wine over the course of the dinner. I have two more bottles which will be consumed over the next year or two.
