Tried this last night after two fails:
1. StCosme AC: CdR (14%; Syrah) Louis & Cherry Barruol/Gigondas 2007: Very dark color; strong earthy/dusty rather roasted/green olive/smoked meats/graphite/coffee/gamey classic NR Syrah some bretty/unclean attractive/complex nose; quite tart somewhat unclean/bretty NR/roasted/espresso/smoked meats/black olive quite earthy/dusty flavor w/ ample hard/rough tannins; med.long some bretty/unclean very NR/smoked meats/black olive/espresso/graphite/roasted finish w/ ample hard/brutal tannins; lots of rustic Gigondas character but a bit too bretty for my taste; does not seem to be evolving gracefully nor resolving the tannins.
