Domaine Houchart...but not the Rosé!

2013 Domaine Houchart Cotes de Provence Blanc, Fr.

Not often one comes across the Houchart white in my neck of the woods..we are all familiar with the Rosé.

$22 Cdn, 13% alc, Diam style enclosure, standard Provence bottle. Blend of Rolle and Clairette.

Color is a pale straw, no green notes. Complex nose here with peach, citrus, pear, brief honey and dried figs. Held up really well overnight, maybe floral hints?.
Initial entry thought is dry but not a bracing acidity.Lengthy finish with mineral tones, nutty.bitter finish as it opens but did not really detract. Lemon tones, green apple, quite a nicely defined wine from Houchart.

**** food was pork scallopini with a creamy mushroom pepper sauce.
