Susan loves roses so we pobegaed this one Fri:
1. DryCreekVnyd Petite Zin Rose of Zin/DryCrekVlly (14.1%; 402 cs; www.DryCreekVineyard.com) 2014: Light ruby/red color dark for a rose; very fresh/bright/zippy spicy Zin/cranberry/raspberry slight dusty/earthy quite fragrant nose; slightly tart very spicy/Zin/cranberry/raspberry slight tangy/earthy bright/vibrant flavor w/ light tannins; long near dry bright/zippy very spicy/raspberry/cranberry slight dusty finish w/ light tannins;one of the prettiest Zin roses I've had; everything you want in a rose; probably a Zin saignee because of the alcohol level. $16.00 (VSP)

A wee BloodyPulpit:
1. The latest DCV Newsletter came w/ this shipment Thurs. It's always a good read and BillSmart does a good job of editing the Newsletter.
There are sometimes recipes included in the Newsletter. This time, I noticed the recipes looked particularly interesting. And...then...I noticed they were credited to one John Fodera. And the DCV Newsletter included his name in the credit...in tiny 3-pt. typeface.
OTOH, if you look at the DCV FaceBook page,
DCVFaceBookPage
you will find my picture...count 'em...two times in the last month.
So I figure the score is:
FoMan: 0.3 pts
Tom: 2 pts.
I may just submit a recipe for classic Kansas tuna noodle casserole and surge into a commanding lead over Fo!!!

Tastes like it should. I picked up my shipment Friday afternoon, and spent way too much time tasting. 9% Petite Sirah brightens it up, I think.
The wine that they're listing as "2014 Sauvignon Blanc, Dry Creek Valley" was particularly interesting in the tasting room. The blurb on the bar said "stainless steel fermented," but the wine definitely had oak in it. The website makes it clear. The small amount of oak, I think, really makes this a good wine. I might even have to buy a couple of bottles. (Egad, what profligacy!)
