SacBee: Dunne On GWT

Mildly interesting article in today's SacBee by MikeDunne on GWT:
SacBee:GWT

It's long been stated that the lack of popularity of GWT in the USofA is because of its difficulty to pronounce. I've always given little credence to that claim, since most Americans have no trouble pronouncing Rkatsteli or Crljenak Kastelanski. Mike speculates that, instead, it's because of GWT assertive flavor may be too much for most Americans. Much like Muscat or Scupernong, perhaps.

Anyway, an interesting read, especially his recommendations.

Perhaps Americans need a dumbed down Gewurztraminer. Maybe Miller Gewurztraminer lite.
