2001 Château Guittot Fellonneau Haut-Médoc
A good old school mid-weight Bordeaux; won't improve from here but drinks very well now. Would be more excited if I'd paid the Cellartracker community average of $16.98 instead of the $27 I paid Garagiste, but oh well.
2013 Zotovich Family Pinot Noir Rosé Zotovich Family Vineyard Sta. Rita Hills
Bought this blind when passing through the area, attracted to it's super pale color. (I prefer the palest roses.) First day it offered NOTHING and I thought oh crap, it's a '13, I got robbed. But we corked it and put it back in the fridge just in case it was playing dead. Next day came the reward: very dry, almost savory, but briney too and very nuanced. A terrific food rose though not hard to drink on it's own.
2004 Arcadian Syrah Westerly Vineyard Santa Ynez Valley
Excellent syrah in the No Rhone style. Black and red fruit, tar, herbs and surprisingly big tannins even 11 years out. Hard to wait, but another 5 years will amaze.
