2006 Chandon de Briailles 1er Cru Ille des Verglesses
Not decanted. Medium red with taupe hues. Mature aromas and closed on the palate initially. Opened up only moderately over the course of dinner (needs food) with cranberry and mushroom notes, but drying tannins became more problematic during the second glass. Lightweight for a premier cru; but that's a weight that can become ethereal in full maturity. Needs more time, like 2-5 more years. Hope it's worth the wait, this was our first bottle of a case.
My wine shopping and I have never had a problem. Just a perpetual race between the bankruptcy court and Hell.--Rogov

2006 seems to be a tight vintage. I had a 2006 Vosne 1er cru a month ago that was tight as a drum

And I was warned against trying the 2006 Faiveley N-S-G at Bern's.
