A wee BloodyPulpit:
1. I have, of course, followed AndyQuady from the very start. Actually, before; I met him at CortiBros in the mid-'70's whilst he was still working at EastSideWnry in Lodi, shortly before he founded QuadyWnry to focus on Port wines.
This wine is OrangeMuscat that is steeped for 6 days in Geranium leaves from the Quady's garden and Damiana flowers from SouthAmerica. It is then filtered & aged in btl for a year. Damiana is a flower that was well known to the Mayans for its aphrodisiacal properties. Alas...it seemed to have no effect on me last night...probably because of the company I was keeping.
The wine had a ton of flocculant sediment. I suspect this L0606 was Andy's first lot of Deviation produced in 2006. I suspect Darrell had a hand in getting Andy to create this aromatized wine. It's incredibly exotic dessert wine & worth seeking out.
