WTN: 2007 Wittmann Grosses Gewachs

2007 Wittmann Westhofener Kirchspiel Riesling Großes Gewächs - Germany, Rheinhessen (4/21/2015)
Frankly disappointing, this wine showed a haze of sweetness over its very ripe, soft fruit. I had to keep it very cold to preserve some sort of balance. The overall aromas and flavors are quite nice, but I struggle with the lack of balance in this wine.

Could it have been an off bottle? I had this in August and found it very precise and focused.
