Naked Wines for angel investors??????

by Jenise » Tue Apr 21, 2015 2:56 pm

A neighbor of mine signed up for this. Honestly, I don't know what to make of it (though I'd personally run in the opposite direction). Anyone heard of it?

Hi Ron,
The wait is over - YOU'RE IN!!!
Today we opened enough Angel spots to take you off the waiting list. You're officially an Angel!
Congratulations and welcome - thank you for helping us revolutionize the wine industry.
And remember our surprise gift for you...
Being an Angel is seriously rewarding. We've been telling you all about those rewards whilst you sat patiently on the waiting list.
Well today you got your wings, and we wanted to kick start your life as an Angel:

It's just another wine club that sucks people in to buy excess product under unknown labels. I also am compelled to say that their saccharin communication style induces nausea.

Awwwww, Thomas!

It makes me feel all FUZZY-WUZZY. I imagine the "free wine" is a slightly sweet sparkling chardonnay from Turlock bought off Fred Franzia's back loading docks.

Unfortunately, their writing style is the new standard in communication. Makes me want to hang up my manuscript right next to my buggy whip!

As for the wines: makes me want to drink hemlock.

I understand! Totally offputting. As is the rest--the so-called advantages, the blatant pandering to the human desire for exclusivity using language that is anything but exclusive. I'm really surprised my neighbor went for this--he's a very savvy individual.

Gullibility seems to be limitless: a seeming sentient being believes that for $40 he/she can buy $80 worth of top-of-the-line exclusivity, plus get a free item, and further believe that the company selling this nonsense makes a profit without immensely overstating the products' value.

Yes, although seems more of a reverse takeover, with NW founder now also in charge of Majestic

I ordered a case before seeing this thread; and wish I had. Opened the Lodi!!! Cab tonight, and it tasted like horse urine.

Carl, sorry to hear that but it's what I would have feared. Various friends occasionally join some club and none of the wines they've shared with me have ever been worth having another glass of.
