And a wee BloodyPulpit:
1. Torbato: A variety I'd never tried before. Suspected of Spanish origins, but no know relatives to other varieties. This is grown in France where it is known as Tourbat or Malvaoise du Roussillon, but is now nearly extinct. This was rescued from the brink of extinction in Sardinia by Sella & Mosca. It is usually described has having a smokey note...but I didn't pick that up.

2. Chianti: It's probably been some 20 yrs since I last bought a ChiantiRosso. It's a genre that I've pretty much blown off. The cheap ones are often not so good. The good ones are quite expensive. So I seldom explore Tuscan wines.
As we were searching things for me to try, Darrell suggested I try this one, recounting it is a quite pretty example of Chianti. He was, of course, correct.
