1998 Château Troplong Mondot - France, Bordeaux, Libournais, St. Émilion Grand Cru (4/12/2015)17 years old, and this wine is still in a youthful phase. It has plenty of deep fruit, a pine needle sappiness and lots of structure. I thought it might be approaching some kind of maturity, but it needs another 10 years at a minimum. It was quite good with our beef main course, but greater rewards await the patient.
