This showed up on my doorstep ystrday, so decided to pobega one:
1. PolymathWine PetiteSirah Calistoga (13.4%) SavannaWright 2013: Very dark/near black color; strong peppery/PS/green peppercorn some dusty/graphite/earthy slight floral/spicy/herbal/thyme/pungent/RCCola/licorice quite interesting if atypical PS nose; rather tart/lean/austere rather peppery/PS/licorice/green peppercorn light floral/spicy/herbal some earthy/dusty/pungent/graphite light toasty/oak very interesting flavor w/ ample lean/hard tannins; very long dusty/earthy/graphite/pungent/smokey rather peppery/PS/green peppercorn/licorice/herbal/thyme pretty tart/structured finish w/ ample lean/hard tannins; a very structured/tight/savory rather atypical PS that needs 3-10 yrs of age; quite an unusual rendition of PS at a stupid price
$15.00

1. I tried this out in Calif and was quite taken by the wine. Not your usual overripe/goopy PS. It had a very structured/savory character that reminded me a lot of the Ridge LyttonEstate PS w/o the Ridge signature style & oak. Undoubtedly from an old-vine vnyd in Calistoga.
