Rich golden yellow. Caramel and petrol nose with a hint of ripe peaches. Sumptuous sweetish midpalate that delivers everything he nose promises and then some with petrol, caramel, ripe peaches and balancing acidity. Long finish of sweet ripe fruit, mostly peaches and oranges with lingering notes of acidity and petrol.
I matched this wine up with panko fried fresh whitefish. Oh my, the fish was so fresh because I bought it today from our local farmers market that it had that sweet fish taste that just really matched up with the wine so nicely. Palate heaven!
Wine: 2006 Reichsgraf von Kesselstatt Riesling Kabinett, Kaseler Nieschen 9.5% abv
Now the real question is: Do I have any more of this wine in my cellar? Yes, 1 bottle, to be saved for a special meal in the future.
