Tried these two Sat night w/ Susan & Wolfgang:
1. SQN E-Raised Syrah (14%; AlbanVnyd + Stolpman/BienNacido) 1998: Murky/brown color; nose of decaying vegetal matter and toe jam; totally shot & DOA.

SQN The Antagonists Calif RW (14%; Grenache; 90 cs) 1998: Med.color w/ some bricking; rather cedary/pencilly/oldRed toasty/oak/smokey some blackberry/boysenberry/Grenache rather attractive complex/oldRed nose w/ no signs of oxidation; soft bit alcoholic strong cedary/pencilly/tobaccoy/oldRed rather toasty/oak/smokey some strawberry/boysenberry/ripe/Grenache complex flavor w/ light/gentle/it drying tannins; very long strong cedary/pencilly/oldRed rather toasty/smokey/oak bit alcoholic some strawberry/ripe/boysenberry/Grenache finish w/ light/bit drying tannins; no obvious signs of oxidation; a lovely example of an old Grenache that's still going strong w/ ample fruit remaining.

A wee BloodyPulpit:
1. These two were "stored" side-by-side in my orphan stash in the garage under totally uncontrolled temperatures for 15 yrs. One was totally dead, the other still interesting & a pleasure. Both corks were sound and no signs of leakage. Go figure.
