Having a little advance fun for St. Patricks Day...

2010 Reinhold Haart Wintricher Ohligsberg Riesling Spätlese - Germany, Mosel Saar Ruwer (3/14/2015)
Two years on since my last taste of this wine, and it is slightly more civilized, but still quite full-flavored. There's tropical fruit and a punchy acidity that makes the fruit almost reach "Sweet-Tarts" territory. a couple of years of age has tamed the sweetness just a bit, or perhaps the acidity is still keeping the sugar at bay. Quite a long finish on this wine, with the fruit going more peachy as it warms up a bit. Some botrytis spice picks up with air, adding to the complexity. Overall this is pretty hard to resist now, despite the depth and richness that promise a long future.
