We tried these two at John's ystrday:
1. BottFreres GWT ReservePersonnelle AC: Vd'A (12%) Ribeauville 1983:Dark gold color; beautiful complex nutmeg/cinammon/very spicy strong lychee/GWT mild-mannered very complex old GWT nose; soft very spicy/nutmeg/cinammon strong lychee/GWT very complex classic oldGWT flavor; very long/lingering spicy/nutmeg/cinammon bit pencilly strong lychee/GWT soft/ripe/lush very complex finish; a beautiful example of a fully mature Alsace GWT w/ no trace of oxidation or going over the hill. $6.75 (vTH)

Dom.MarcelDeiss Tokay PinotGris AC: Vd'A (14%; MeBaD) 1992: Med.dark gold color; rather smokey/pencilly strong mango/PG/pineapple/fruity/ripe rather complex beautiful nose; soft slightly off-dry very lush/ripe smokey/pencilly strong ripe/mango/pineapple/PG/spicy mild-mannered/gentle/quiet very complex flavor; very long/lingering soft/off-dry ripe/mango/pineapple/PG/spicy light pencilly/smokey gentle complex finish; no signs of oxidation or going round-the-bend; a lovely quiet/gentle/Auslese-level fully mature PG.

A wee BloodyPulpit:
1. The Bott was Blair's contribution. We bought a bunch of the Bott '76 GWT&Riesling, both CuveeExceptionelle and ReservePersonnelle. And then a bunch of the '83's. Blair still has a bunch of these remaining.
The Deiss was from my orphan stash out in the garage, stored 20 yrs under uncontrolled temps. Pretty much like the btl I had a week ago...and no signs of heat damage.
