A wee BloodyPulpit:
1. I'd tried this wine almost two yrs ago when JimClendenen pulled out of his library a bunch of his Nebbs at a tasting at the wnry he did for me. It seemed pretty hard/austere then but had wonderful aromatics, one of the charms of Nebbiolo.
This btl seemed pretty hard at first, but several hrs later when I got it home, the tannins had smoothed out considerably. That sort of thing doesn't happen very often in an old wine.
Will take my remaining btls ('88 & '89 and Parabola '89 Barbera/Nebbiolo blend) out to NEB#5 in a few weeks.
Tom
