Had this last night whilst preparing my grilled cheese samwichs:
1. Meyer-Fonne GWT Wineck-Schlossberg AC: AlsaceGC (14.4%; Slctn Rand Yazzolino) Francois Meyer/Katzenthal 1990: Med.gold color; strong spicy/cinammon/nutmeg very spicy/lychee/GWT slight hair-oil some pencilly/smokey pretty fresh/youthful complex beautiful perfumed nose; lightly tart strong lychee/GWT/very spicy some cinammon/nutmeg light hair-oil/youthful totally dry/rich/lush very perfumed complex flavor; very long/lingering strong lychee/GWT/spicy/nutmeg lightly tart fairly rich/lush bit smokey/pencilly very complex finish; no signs of oxidation whatsover and very fresh if a bit mild-mannered; a truly spectacular example of a fully mature Alsace GWT; unbelievable.

A wee BloodyPulpit:
1. Another one from my abandoned stash stored for 20 yrs in the garage w/ no temp controls; freezing temps in Winter to 90+F in Summer. Some slight leakage under the capsule and ullaged about 2" below the cork. Cork totally solid & firm.
I left the last glass out on the counter overnight and it was just as fresh as it was last night and went great w/ my CocoPuffs. It's rare that a highly reduced wine hold up to the air overnight like this.
I hate wines like this. By the the time I sat down to eat my dinner samwichs, the btl was almost gone. What is even worse, I regretted not having someone w/ whom to share such a terrific wine. One more btl left.
This whole case has me totally baffled. There is no way that these wines, given such poor storage, should be this good. The color on the remaining btls in this stash also look pretty good. Beats heck out of me.

2. RandYazzolino is an importer w/ whom I'm unfamiliar. I gather he's still in business and partnered w/ KevinClancy, who used to be SteveEdmunds marketing guy.
